ASSISTANT COACHES
Dagmara Wozniak
Dagmara
started fencing at the PAFS when she was 9 years old. At age 10,
she won a Gold Medal (Y-10) at her first Summer Nationals. Since
then, she has medaled many times at various levels at North American
Cups and the Summer Nationals. Each year, she has consistently ranked
in the top of her USFA age group.
In 2005, Dagmara was selected by USFA to represent the US at her
first World Championship, and in 2006, she won a Team Gold Medal
at the Junior World Champion-ships in Korea.
This year Dagmara is on track to represent the
US at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
In 2007, she was an NCAA Fencing All-American representing St. John’s
University. Despite her numerous commitments, Dagmara still finds
time to work with the young PAFS fencers twice a week.
Aleksander Ochocki
Olek
started fencing at the PAFS when he was 8 years old. He began competing
at the national level and won Silver Medal (Y-12) at the 2001 Summer
Nationals. By 2005, he was ranked first in the nation as a Y-14.
In 2005, he won a Gold Medal at the Summer Nationals (Junior) and
the Junior Olympics.
In 2008, Ochocki became the first three-time New Jersey High School
Fencing Champion, and he was selected as the Boy fencer-of-the-Year
for New Jersey, as well as being named to the All-State Team.
Olek started competing at World Cup events in 2004, and he was selected
by USFA to attend his first World Championship as a Cadet. He currently
trains with the US National Team.
At the PAFS, he assist with group and individual
lessons twice a week. This year, he accepted a scholarship to fence
for Penn State University (the 2007 NCAA National Champions).
Monica Aksamit
Monica
started fencing at the PAFS when she was 9 years old. In 2007, she
won a Gold Medal at the Junior Olympics (Cadet), and in 2008, she
won another Gold Medal at the Junior Olympics (Junior).
Monica currently is ranked by USFA in the top
ten as a Senior and the top five as a Junior. She now trains with
the US National Team and began competing at World Cup events in
2006. This year, she was selected by the USFA to be on the US National
Junior team for the World Championships in Italy.
Recently, Monica has accepted an athletic scholarship
to fence for Penn State. While there, she will join her PAFS teammate
Olek Ochocki on one of the premier college fencing programs in the
US.
Artur Wielkoszewski
Artur
has competed, coached or refereed in over 20 competitive sports.
After a break of many years from fencing, in 2001 he was asked by
Maestro Mlynek to assist him by providing fundamentals and technical
instructions at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and starting
this past year at West Point.
